The movie challenges its viewers to think about the following: Inside Out explores the role of Sadness and along the way Joy learns just how essential Sadness can be. Much like what happens in therapy, Pixar challenges the thought that SadnessвЂ™ role is to stay out of the way. How often do we find ourselves asking Sadness to stay right there in that circle, and not touch a thing? This moment gives one pause, specifically when thinking about therapeutic work and the process of healing. In Inside Out, as Joy delivers roles to the team of emotions on their first day at a new school, Joy draws a chalk circle and tells Sadness it is her job to вЂњstay in that circle and donвЂ™t leave it.вЂќ As one might expect, with any good movie, Sadness has trouble staying in her circle and mayhem follows. People often come to therapy because of their desire to eliminate or control sadness, among other feelings. Without giving away too many spoilers, the movieвЂ™s exposГ© on our societyвЂ™s treatment of sadness is directly related to topics often visited in therapy. While there are many aspects of the movie that are food for thought (and discussion), the most poignant may be the relationship between the main characters Sadness and Joy. Pixar takes on this daunting task, but with the support of UC Berkeley researchers, it hits the nail on the head. Inside OutВ braves the task of going into the human mind and exploring the relationships and roles among emotion, memory, personality and human relationships. She may be goofy, but when she wants to give someone the stink eye, there are few comics more unsettling-while still being likable.At first glance PixarвЂ™s newest film Inside Out may appear to be another childrenвЂ™s movie with unique characters and the Disney/Pixar sparkle, but ask anyone who has seen it, grown up and child alike, and itвЂ™s clear that the movie hits a soft spot that is somewhat unexpected.

HeвЂ™d be great on a never-ending road trip across the country when nothing but a flat, beige landscape surrounds a car for as far as the eye can see.ДЄnnoyance: Chelsea Peretti Parks And Recreation deftly passed the torch for best comedy ensemble to Michael SchurвЂ™s next show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and a big reason for that is Peretti, who has a scowl that can cut silliness down to size in a snap.

Pensiveness: John Hodgman From his big break as the PC in AppleвЂ™s now-iconic ad campaign to his podcast role as a social judge to his standup shows where he channels the ghost of Ayn Rand (in full costume), Hodgman is a hyper-intelligent and acutely hilarious comedian-perfect for a more thoughtful emotion, with ample opportunity for comic contemplation.Д«oredom: Wyatt Cenac Laconic and composed, the former Daily Show correspondent is a still pond-but he would be even more hilarious taking that natural attitude and channeling it into something akin to Mindy KalingвЂ™s Disgust.
